Alex Adkins
General Manager
Alex has worked in the industry since 1993, beginning his career in food and wine at The French Cafe, one of Omaha's venerable dining institutions. His education continued at M's Pub, where he honed his wine knowledge under the tutelage of Ron Samuelson, with a little help from his award-winning wine list. Alex took a sabbatical from the industry to earn a master’s degree in public policy and take on work in the public sector. After his tenure in public service, he jumped at the opportunity to help open a new restaurant with a local, yet environmental perspective, serving most recently as the general manager of The Grey Plume while helping establish it as one of Omaha's newest benchmarks for wine and service. He switched to the sales side of the wine scene five years ago, and he continues his pursuit of experiencing the best wines the world has to offer.

Quail President Chuck Campbell’s interest in wine began like so many others – by downing a bottle of good ol’ Boone’s Farm. French classes in school and an inspirational trip to Napa and Sonoma both furthered his interest and elevated his tastes, leading Chuck to forgo his civil engineering MBA and a long-term construction career in favor of following his favorite hobby.
Quail Distributing was hatched in 1998, and, with Chuck at the helm, grew from a small, four- person outfit focused on Oregon and Washington wines to one of the southwest’s premiere distribution operations, quadrupling in size and offering hundreds of fine wines from all corners of the globe.
Craig Ulrich

A passion for providing and representing quality wine, culinary dishes and outstanding service was embodied early on in Craig’s restaurant career, and it’s something he says is “in my DNA”. He rose through the ranks quickly, taking on manager, general manager and sommelier positions in some of Omaha’s most revered wine-list restaurants. Accepting a position with Quail Distributing in January 2008 was a natural next step, and Craig continues his restaurant training via staff education, wine-presentation protocol and sales techniques with on-premise accounts.

Warehouse / Delivery
Danny joined Quail in April of 2016. Working in the warehouse-Danny organizes all deliveries and shipping of our fine portfolio. He enjoys time with his family and is an avid sports fan. His favorite teams include the Dallas cowboys; Cleveland Indians; Creighton Bluejays and of course the Cornhuskers.
April Bell
Office Manager
April comes to us from the automotive world, having run a large region for a major parts supplier. She brings her experience and no-nonsense attitude, and sometimes her pup Lola, to Quail each and every day!
Jessica Mares
Wine Director and Greater NE Sales
Jessica Mares first gained curiosity for all things wine while working at Wilderness Ridge, a semi-private golf club, throughout college. While studying hospitality, restaurant and tourism management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she had the opportunity to live and work a vineyard harvest in Tuscany, Italy. Upon graduation, Jessica continued to study wine and is currently a Certified Wine Specialist. In her free time, she enjoys camping, fishing and traveling with her husband Nick and their two fur-children, Buddy and Bear.

Bill Is a veteran of the WWW - wine wholesale world. He worked for some of the old-school distributors before bringing his cool, calm demeanor to Quail. Now, in his spare time, Bill plays tennis with his lovely wife and tells stories of Vitas Gerulaitis.

This beer lovin' guitar playin' man strives to help his glorious state of Nebraska be a more cheerful place, one day at a time. Since the age of 15, he's done it all in the food and beverage industry. His journey continues on, and he has been with Quail since the summer of 2014. His other passions include the world of music, the outdoors, dancing, sports, and drinking in the wonders of life. Above all, he loves his wife, son, dog, family and friends... Cheerio!
Paeter Schmidt
Lincoln Sales
Paeter unexpectedly stumbled into the Wine & Spirits Business over 14 years ago and has never looked back. Prior to his life at Quail Distributing, Paeter gained experience will working retail wine with one of the large national distributors. When not chasing down “by the glass” and wine display opportunities Paeter spends his time riding bikes, watching Seinfeld reruns, sipping red wine and long hikes with his beloved dog Wu.

Beer and Spirits Manager
Tim has been with Quail since 2010 after returning to Nebraska from Nashville. After earning a Journalism Degree- getting into the wine business seemed a very Murrow path to pursue. He manages the European Wine and Craft Beer & Spirits portfolios for Quail.
In his spare-time he can be found working on vintage cars - flailing at golf- and rooting on the hapless A’s. He is beyond lucky to be married to Ann - and has an assortment of con-artist animals.
